You are certainly right that I didn’t drop that dog-whistle phrase in casually. It’s absolutely intentional. I have found as a person with privilege trying to be part of liberation struggle that the practice of flipping things I’ve been taught on their heads. So I ask myself, in what way could I consider myself at-risk? I try to answer that in the section about all the ways that the world won’t let me learn to see outside of the fog of my privilege.
