I see what you’re saying about brainwashing, in that she’s too young to really deeply question what I present her with. That being said, the point of this piece is that she’s already been getting brainwashed by American racism from the day she was born, and that was manifested clear as day in her comment. So I’m not sure how you could read this and not see that I’m actually trying to combat the brainwashing that she (and I…and maybe you?) are constantly subjected to.
